HobbyTown, 1604 State Road: July 2018
The HobbyTown location in Cheraw closed back in 2018 at the end of July. The two signs at the main entrance state that the owners decided to relocate to North Myrtle Beach. Unfortunately for the owners, I see where that location has since closed so it would seem things did not go according to plan for them.
I am slightly familiar with the HobbyTown brand. A guy I used to work with in Columbia years ago used to talk about going to the one there and watching people race their RC machines. Aside from dealing in RC machines, HobbyTown also sells model kits, toy trains, puzzles, various arts and crafts kits, and even metal detectors. They seem to cover the gambit in hobbies. The closest HobbyTown to Cheraw now is in Fayetteville.
